Did you know?
Despite being legal to have a tinted film to the rear glass of your vehicle, having a tinted film installed to the drivers and passengers front windows will invalidate your insurance! We contacted 10 of the biggest insurance companies in the UK and found that not one of them will insure you if you tell them the front windows have been tinted. If you don’t tell them, in the event of an accident not caused by you, if it is found that a tint has been installed they will not pay out and your vehicle will be worth scrap value only.
It is illegal to have any form of tint on these windows - even a very light smoke as the law states that the VLT (Visual Light Transmission) on these windows must not fall below 70%. The VLT on most modern cars is between 71% & 80% so even the lightest tint will drop the VLT on these windows below the legal limit. A routine stop by the police could result in 3 penalty points and a £60 fine if a tint is found on these windows. With all traffic police now carrying Tint Meters to ensure this law is maintained, why take the risk!
All quotations given are for the installation of our films to the rear of the vehicle only and the very darkest of tints can be installed without any repercussions.
